We aim to help make your transition to university life as smooth as possible. Here's some of the essential information you'll need to make that happen.

All new students need to attend an in-person ID checking appointment during Fresher's Week.
This means you'll need some kind of photo ID such as a passport or a driving licence (if you have one) and proof of your home address.
International students - you will need to show your passport and other visa documentation in person.
You'll be emailed about the date/time for this.
To find out how to access your student accommodation, please contact your accommodation provider directly. The addresses and links you need are on the student halls of residence page.
Our campus is compact, and there’s always someone around to point you in the right direction.

As well as the Bernard King Library and Student Centre, there are four named buildings in the UniversityÌý–
The Old College.
Kydd Building.
Baxter Building.
Graham Building (where the Sports Centre and Gym are).
The Library:ÌýThe Bernard King Library provides PCs, books, ebooks, journals, and a variety of comfortable study places. Opening hours vary throughout the year.
All new students get a student ID card. You need it to access services in the University, including adding credit to your print allowance and borrowing books from the library. Your student card is also useful for getting discounts at restaurants and high-street stores, so keep it handy!
Your Abertay email address will be your student number followed by '@abertay.ac.uk'. For example, 999999@abertay.ac.uk.
This is the only email account our staff will use to contact you, so please make sure you check in regularly.
Your personalised timetable will be available by the time teaching starts if not before.
