Abertay University鈥檚 Student Rugby Team has smashed its own fundraising efforts by raising 拢6,363 for the 2022 Men鈥檚 health campaign.
To make sure they hit their 拢6,000 target, the team took part in a range of challenges, including lifting one million kilos of weights in a local gym within 24-hours.
The team also had a cake and candy stall, as well as growing their facial hair throughout the month of November.
The highest amount previously raised by the Rugby Team for the Movember Foundation was 拢5,000.
Each year, many of Abertay鈥檚 sports teams choose to raise funds for a charity of their choice. In addition to Movember, teams across the University have also raised funds for charities including Dundee Women鈥檚 Aid.
Michael Devlin, Sports Development Officer said: 鈥淭he amount of money raised by our Rugby Team this year with their fundraising efforts is absolutely outstanding.
鈥淚t鈥檚 been fantastic to see the team put the same amount of energy into their Movember efforts as they do to playing Rugby.
鈥淚鈥檇 like to say a huge well done to all of our teams who have raised funds for their chosen charity this year.鈥
Neil Hepburn Movember Ambassador added: 鈥淲e are really pleased to be able to donate 拢6,200 to the Movember Foundation.
鈥淲e would like to say thank you to everyone who donated to our fundraising drive, and an extra special thanks to , who provided us with space and equipment to complete our 1 million kilo lift challenge
