Abertay receives £25,000 funding boost from Santander Universities

Abertay University has received a 拢25,000 funding boost from Santander UK to help support students during the coronavirus pandemic.听

Santander, through Santander Universities, has supported Abertay since 2018, and has donated almost 拢72,000 to the university in that time.听

The partnership has also led to remarkable opportunities for students, such as the chance for two women鈥檚 footballers to train at the Nou Camp last year.

Santander also provides support to Bell Street Ventures, Abertay鈥檚 enterprise centre which helps students and graduates set up businesses.听

Universities are doing some fantastic work to contribute to the UK鈥檚 effort to combat the outbreak of COVID-19, so we鈥檙e delighted to collaborate with our university partners in a way which increases their response effort and look forward to continuing to work with them on supporting both students and the broader higher education community with further initiatives over the coming months.鈥�

The funding comes alongside a broader set of initiatives introduced by Santander UK in response to the coronavirus outbreak to support communities.听

These include a 拢1milion donation from the Santander Foundation to Age UK and Alzheimer鈥檚 Society to support some of the most vulnerable people in the community following the outbreak of COVID-19 and doubling the work time that Santander employees can claim to volunteer.
