Synopsis

Interdimensional is a project that focuses on the transition of visual styles between two environments. These two environments are linked by a portal that bridges the two worlds together. I wanted to create contrast in the environments and to make the two styles distinct from each other.聽 As a player you must explore your way through the environment, by travelling through the portals.

Interdimensional

This project consists of two environments in two different visual art styles, with the goal of transitioning between the two styles.

Motivation

I created two environments in two art styles and challenged myself to transition the game from one art style to another without it being too jarring for the player. I wanted to develop my skills as an artist by working in multiple art styles and different themes/atmospheres of environments. I wanted the environments and visual styles to have contrast between each other. To do this I made them distinct from each other in tone and atmosphere as well as the models and textures themselves.
