Procedural island generation as a base for world building

Synopsis

A world building tool that allows the generation of an island with different biomes such as, forests, fields, towns and mountains.

The island is created to fit a low poly art style and the ground itself is made up of Voronoi cells to give each area a unique shape. These sections can then be adjusted to suit the needs of an individual game. The parameters for the island can be adjusted to generate the desired base from which to build the world.

Procedural island generation as a base for world building

A tool used to automatically generate an island with separate biomes which can be built upon to create a game world.

Motivation

Having worked on many games throughout university, one of the slowest sections is always placing lots of objects on terrain to try and make the world look real. This tool aims to help alleviate that issue and leave designers more time for the game.
